Solo Exhibition in Tokyo 2018

I was honored to have been invited by the Luxembourgish Embassy in Tokyo to participate at an art residency in Tokyo for 2 months. I stayed art Youkobo Art Space and worked on my solo exhibition during that time.

As an illustrator, I am particularly interested in capturing daily life scenes, the little things in life or any other random observations. That’s what my exhibition is mainly about. During my first two weeks in Tokyo I realized how dynamic and wild this city is but I also recognized a very peaceful and calm side to it. So this how the the title of my exhibition wild calmness came into life. Key influences of my work are inspired by my direct surroundings, like wild vegetation, flower pots which are dotting the streets, people… I like to reduce any kind of experiences into subjects of simple naivety… to reduce them into simple shapes and compose them in a more or less eclectic way to add a touch of humor to it.
